Neeio: Mini Game Hell I - High Score - It is the year 2000, and a legendary phone has hit the market. Our protagonist, Neeio, plays on it all the time, but during a massive thunderstorm something goes horribly wrong, as she gets sucked into a digital world. She must beat all the hellish mini games in order to break the barrier and get back to the real world! But something else has happened, as she will learn eventually. Let’s just say that time works very differently on the digital plane...

Wacky little game old sport! you really went with that 1 bit aesthetic. though I never owned a Nokia, I do remember playing simple little games when I was younger, and this basically strikes that same note.
I think you did well aiming for authenticity, and the story of the game was more complex than I had expected. I thought that it was well written, and though it was longer than I would have liked, it wasn't painful to read as in some other games.
There were some points in the game that irked me. first and foremost was that there was no in-game score. in order to see your actual score, you would have to go back out to the menu. It would be easier to figure out if you had beaten the minigame if there was more on-screen visualization. I couldn't play with sound because I was in a public space, and the fact that I didn't really know when I could stop playing the game was frustrating.
But overall, pretty sweet game for your first non-jam solo release! I would let you know my scores but I forgot to screenshot them before I exited the game :, )
Hello, and thanks for the feedback, it means a lot! I'm really glad that the Nokia aesthetic and feel is working!
The in-game score caused a bit of a problem. Basically, since the game is only 85x85 pixels and each letter in the font used is 5x5, that means it would fill a big chunk of the screen.
I tried to make it fit somehow, but really the only mini game where it would work was "Jurassic Jumper", it has that nice big area in the middle that's quite empty (which is actually the reason I added the sun in the corner, so it would be less empty).
I don't think I can do much in regards of getting the score to fit in this first Neeio game, but I'm making three more of these. They might have a bit bigger screen, maybe 100x100 so that in-game statistics would fit. Can't make it too big though, since then I risk losing the aesthetic.
Anyways, thanks again for the feedback!
